Anita Saarkessian
Anita Sarkeesian, a Canadian/American media critic, is also a public talker. Feminist Frequency is a website with video and blogs looking at the portrayal of women by the media and in popular media and popular. Anita Sarkeesian is an award-winning feminist journalist from Canada and a blogger. Feminist Frequency an online platform dedicated to education, which examines gender roles within pop culture, is managed by Sarkeesian. In her efforts to dispel the myths about women and pop culture she also works to highlight issues related to targeted harassment against women as well as other classes of the Internet area. Sarkeesian is a graduate in Political and Social Thinking from York University. As a public speaker, she is well-known as she has appeared at TEDxWomenXOXO as well as the United Nations Broadband Working Group. From an early age, Sarkeesian was fascinated by questions of gender identity as well as feminist ideas. As a student, in 2009, she founded the Feminist Frequency website. The woman was determined and had a plan to make a web series focused on gender representation within games. In the end, she came across herself the target of an online harassment campaign. The attack did be a deterrent, but it only bolstered her determination to be a feminist media critic. In recognition of the many accomplishments she's made to women's rights, she's been an award winner. Anita Sarkeesian has been a media critic for many years and was the creator of Feminist Frequency, an non-profit organization for education that examines women's representations in pop culture.
