Allison Chinchar is a meteorologist for CNN and HLN. She regularly appears in CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Before being hired by CNN in June 2015 she was meteorologist for the local station in Atlanta, Nashville, and Chattanooga, Tennessee. The meteorologist has covered flooding, wildfires and hurricanes and even storms. In the year 2019, she was nominated for an Emmy award for covering Hurricane Dorian from the Bahamas. She also was a part of an event known as the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, where more than 350 tornadoes struck across the Southeastern United States in just four days. Over 200 on the 27th. The experience she has gained being an ecoscientist given her the ability to report regarding climate change and natural catastrophes like earthquakes, volcanoes, etc. Chinchar completed her bachelor of Science degree in Atmospheric Science from The Ohio State University. Chinchar is also a part of the American Meteorological Society, the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and the National Weather Association, and the International Association of Broadcast Meteorology.
