Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@/ 'goUmez/s@–LEE/ GOH-m (born July 22, 1992)) was an American singer, actress and producer. Gomez's acting career began on the children’s television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). She rose to fame for her role as Alex Russo, a teenage star in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007-12). In addition to her TV career, Gomez appeared in the films Another Cinderella Story (2008), Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2009), Ramona and Beezus (2010), Monte Carlo (2011), Spring Breakers (2012), Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising (2016), and The Dead Don't Die (2019) and as Mavis in the Hotel Transylvania film franchise (2012-2022). Gomez was executive producer for Netflix's 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) as well as Living Undocumented (2018) through July Moon Productions. She also executive produces and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) as well as the Hulu comedy series Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez received critical praise for the show in addition to nominations for an Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez was previously in Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. The albums all reached the top ten on the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and received the Recording industry Association of America's (RIAA). The album she released as her solo debut, Stars Dance (2013) it topped the U.S. Billboard 200, and its leading single "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten on the US Billboard Hot 100. Three top ten US entries were created out of Revival: "Good for You" and the "Same Old Love" single and "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020), her third studio album was her third straight number one in the US. Its number one single, "Lose You To Love Me" was the first single to be ranked number one across both the US and Canada. In 2021, she dropped the EP in Spanish Revelacion, for which she received a nomination for the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. She has won many awards including the 2017 Billboard Woman of the year award. In addition, she broke fifteen Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the 100 most powerful individuals in the World in 2020. Her social media following is massive and she's also the most talked about actress and performer on Instagram. Her other ventures include makeup, clothing, handbag and fragrance brands. She has been involved with a variety of charitable organizations , and was a UNICEF ambassador since the age of 17.
